The film continues the narrative of BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! and BanG Dream! Ave Mujica, extending some of the franchise’s recent arcs. Additionally, the new trailer confirmed the film picks up six months after the band’s comeback with a “secret masquerade.”
The announcement gives fans a concrete date for Ave Mujica’s next chapter, nearly a year and a half after Ave MujicaTV anime concluded in March 2025. Ave Mujica prima aurora was initially titled Ave Mujica – The Die is Cast, when it was first announced in August 2025. Later, Bushiroad named it Eiga BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora, in January 2026.
Bushiroad paired the Ave Mujica prima aurora trailer drop with a music announcement, as well. The in-universe band Ave Mujica will release a four-track mini-album titled Kami no na wo on October21, five days after the film opens.
Ave Mujica prima aurora Plot, Production and BanG Dream!’s Expanding Roadmap
BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora follows the aftermath of the TV anime, inviting viewers once again into Ave Mujica’s journey. “On a stage where sorrow, death, fear, love— even the solace of forgetting— are stripped away, will their masks be torn off and shatter into oblivion, or will they,” says the official synopsis of the anime.
Ave Mujica prima aurora film is produced by SANZIGEN, the studio behind It’s MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica. Kōdai Kakimoto returned to direct the film, with Akiko Waba and Midori Gotō handling the screenplay. The returning voice cast for the film includes Kanon Takao, Yuzuki Watase, Rico Sasaki, Akane Yonezawa, and Mei Okada, the voices behind the Ave Mujica band.
The film’s significance extends beyond a single release. Apart from being a sequel title, it also functions as a bridge between the Ave Mujica anime and the BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!!/Ave Mujica sequel anime, scheduled for 2027.
Previously in 2025, a joint live event between MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica, Beyond the Fork in the Road, sold out with more than 30K tickets, according to Bushiroad’s fiscal 2026first-quarter financial report. Additionally, Bushiroad reported a 21.43% year-on-year increase in revenue, with ¥56.18 billion (~$351.12 million USD) for fiscal 2025, where its Entertainment Business accounted for most of this growth.
The film also arrives as Bushiroad manages several concurrent BanG Dream!projects. The company is currently airing BanG Dream! YUME∞MITA, a separate television anime based on the journey of Mugendai MewType, another virtual band.
