CineNow has unveiled the leadership and governance structure for its proposed $150 million entertainment investment vehicle, bringing together veterans from film, media, entertainment and finance.
The newly formed Investment Committee, India Council and Leadership Team include industry veterans such as former Applause Entertainment CEO Sameer Nair, film strategist and producer Neha Kaul, screenwriter Jaideep Sahni, producer Aashish Singh, IMPPA President Abhay Sinha, Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty and celebrity management entrepreneur Reshma Shetty, along with senior executives from the entertainment, media and finance sectors.
They join CineNow Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Dalmia and Principal Advisor Siddharth Roy Kapur.
“India has built an extraordinary entertainment ecosystem, but the investment architecture around entertainment is still evolving,” Dalmia said. “CineNow is bringing together leaders who understand content, audiences, platforms, distribution and capital to build a more institutional, portfolio-led approach.”
According to the company, films will be evaluated on factors including creative strength, commercial potential, audience opportunity, talent, production economics, distribution prospects and long-term intellectual property value.
The Investment Committee will oversee content evaluation, investment decisions, portfolio construction and IP value creation. The India Council will provide broader industry and financial perspectives, while the leadership team will focus on execution and operations.
Beyond film financing, CineNow is also positioning itself at the intersection of entertainment and digital finance.
The company plans to introduce tokenisation into its investment framework, which it said could improve liquidity, transparency and investor access while keeping intellectual property ownership with creators and production partners.
The fund will seek to build long-term value from theatrical releases, streaming rights, international distribution, music, licensing and other IP-led revenue streams.
The approach reflects growing investor interest in entertainment assets beyond traditional box office revenues.
CineNow said it has started collaborating with filmmakers and content creators and expects capital deployment to begin later this year.
The vehicle plans to invest in more than 30 films over the next six years, spanning Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam cinema.
