Martin Scorsese is revisiting familiar territory, this time for television, as he joins forces with Netflix on a new drama centered around the high-stakes world of Las Vegas casinos.
The untitled series, created and run by Billions masterminds Brian Koppelman and David Levien, has received an eight-episode order. Set in present-day Las Vegas, the story explores a glitzy yet cutthroat casino scene where power plays and risk-taking define success.
The series is currently untitled, but here’s the official description: “The hourlong drama is set in the high-stakes, sharp-elbowed present-day Las Vegas casino business, which is a modernized but still dangerous version of the legendary city. At the center of which stands Robert ‘Bobby Red’ Redman, president of the hottest hotel casino in town, who has to make some long odds moves to try and secure his position and take more ground.”
The project reunites talent deeply connected to gambling-themed storytelling. Scorsese famously directedCasino, while Koppelman and Levien previously worked on films like Rounders and Oceans Thirteen, as well as creating Billions, which wrapped after seven seasons in 2023.
Behind the scenes, Scorsese will executive produce through his Sikelia Productions banner alongside a team that includes Julie and Rick Yorn, Paul Schiff, Beth Schachter, and Kerry Orent. Koppelman and Levien will handle writing duties in addition to showrunning.
Casting details and a premiere date have not yet been announced, but with such a seasoned creative team, the series is already shaping up to be a major addition to Netflix’s drama lineup.
