“Dystopian food,” which sometimes appears in movies and anime as a paste or block, has been the subject of a project by Tsukino Mito to add character-inspired color to it as a way to support her favorite idols. It’s true that opportunities to eat dishes and drinks inspired by your favorite idols are increasing at collaboration cafes and the like, but the idea of combining it with dystopian food is quite unique.
The dishes I’m making this time are dystopian meals inspired by myself, Fuwa Minato, and Suzuhara Ruru. I’m using artistic techniques in various places to recreate the characters’ personalities, focusing on how to process the ingredients to create a dystopian feel. I’m particularly particular about the coloring. I’m making fine adjustments to recreate exquisite shades.
What makes this video so well done is that it doesn’t just focus on the fun of the cooking segment. In the first half, it discusses what dystopian food is, and how it’s depicted in various movies, anime, and games.
Drawing on various sources, the author analyzes the reasons why things must be in liquid or solid form. The sheer volume of knowledge, the depth of the analysis, and the high skill and effort put into the illustrations used to explain it are overwhelming; this is a work that showcases Tsukino Mito’s talent without reservation.
Leo Sumeragi, Hayato Kagami, and Ittetsu Saeki embarked on an activity that makes you think, “This is what summer is all about!”: insect collecting. A vlog-style video was filmed showing the three of them trying various methods to catch rhinoceros beetles.
Collecting rhinoceros beetles might be a classic image associated with summer, but these days, opportunities to do so are rare. Watching these three boys excitedly take on the challenge is truly heartwarming.
First, each participant creates their own trap. Whether or not they can actually catch anything is another matter, but the highlight is seeing how each person’s individuality shines through.

Prefecture Iwate resident VTuber Saya Ichiyami has uploaded a vlog exploring Hanamaki City. The vlog introduces this city, the hometown of author Kenji Miyazawa, from both a culinary and facility perspective.
In terms of food, I ordered a ten-layer soft-serve ice cream at the Marukan Building’s main dining hall. It was quite an impressive size and very tempting.
