High-quality videos from VTubers (Virtual YouTubers) and virtual creators are uploaded every day. From among them, I’ll introduce some videos that I personally think you should definitely watch. In particular, I’ll delve deeper into unique works, works with high technical skill and planning ability, and works that are timely, capturing the fun, effort, and talent of the creators!

【Future Fandom Activities】Let’s create dystopian food inspired by your favorite idol!

“Dystopian food,” which sometimes appears in movies and anime as a paste or block, has been the subject of a project by Tsukino Mito to add character-inspired color to it as a way to support her favorite idols. It’s true that opportunities to eat dishes and drinks inspired by your favorite idols are increasing at collaboration cafes and the like, but the idea of combining it with dystopian food is quite unique.

The dishes I’m making this time are dystopian meals inspired by myself, Fuwa Minato, and Suzuhara Ruru. I’m using artistic techniques in various places to recreate the characters’ personalities, focusing on how to process the ingredients to create a dystopian feel. I’m particularly particular about the coloring. I’m making fine adjustments to recreate exquisite shades.

What makes this video so well done is that it doesn’t just focus on the fun of the cooking segment. In the first half, it discusses what dystopian food is, and how it’s depicted in various movies, anime, and games.

Drawing on various sources, the author analyzes the reasons why things must be in liquid or solid form. The sheer volume of knowledge, the depth of the analysis, and the high skill and effort put into the illustrations used to explain it are overwhelming; this is a work that showcases Tsukino Mito’s talent without reservation.

Leo Sumeragi, Hayato Kagami, and Ittetsu Saeki embarked on an activity that makes you think, “This is what summer is all about!”: insect collecting. A vlog-style video was filmed showing the three of them trying various methods to catch rhinoceros beetles.

Collecting rhinoceros beetles might be a classic image associated with summer, but these days, opportunities to do so are rare. Watching these three boys excitedly take on the challenge is truly heartwarming.

First, each participant creates their own trap. Whether or not they can actually catch anything is another matter, but the highlight is seeing how each person’s individuality shines through.

After that, I made a more traditional beetle trap using bananas, sugar, and alcohol. This one is quite serious; I’m making it with the intention of actually catching beetles.

While whether or not they actually caught anything is important, what’s great about this video is that it also captures the waiting time until night falls and the beetles become active. This video really conveys the enjoyment of insect collecting, showing that the process of taking time to capture them is what makes it fun.

Prefecture Iwate resident VTuber Saya Ichiyami has uploaded a vlog exploring Hanamaki City. The vlog introduces this city, the hometown of author Kenji Miyazawa, from both a culinary and facility perspective.

In terms of food, I ordered a ten-layer soft-serve ice cream at the Marukan Building’s main dining hall. It was quite an impressive size and very tempting.

The introductory videos for the Kenji Miyazawa Memorial Museum and Kenji Miyazawa Fairy Tale Village are enjoyable because they cleverly capture the length of the staircase leading up to the museum and the remaining exhibits within the village.

Ichiyami Saya’s vlogs feature a calm and soothing voice that effectively conveys her rising emotions. Her rich vocabulary and engaging speaking style make the entire video easy to listen to, gradually building the viewer’s excitement. The meticulous editing also contributes to the excellent pacing. The well-calculated and dynamic pacing makes it very easy to watch. The sound effects and background music are also carefully adjusted, keeping the viewer engaged throughout.

The charm of Ichiyami Saya’s vlogs lies in how she skillfully recreates the joy of food, the relaxed feeling of being out and about, the unexpected events that occur, and her quick-witted thoughts through the rhythm of her conversation. The fun of traveling alone, the thrill of trying new things, and the entertaining elements of her engaging perspectives are all skillfully combined in an easy-to-watch way.

    【Hiroko turns 88】Congratulations! Grandma celebrates her 88th birthday!【Meta Grandma】

Meta-Grandma, a virtual community where elderly women live and work freely, has announced that Hiroko, one of its first members, has reached the age of 88. Congratulations!

According to the press release, the actual birthday is being kept secret in order to prevent “ore-ore” (impersonation) scams.

In the video, she happily talks about being taken to a yakiniku restaurant to celebrate her 88th birthday. It seems she had a great time going out with her son, grandson, and great-grandson, and that joy comes through in the video.

He also talked about visiting the newly renovated Hiroshima Station, but it seemed too big for him, and he made us chuckle by comparing it to the virtual Hiroshima Station and saying, “The virtual one is better.”

“Grandma Meta” is a VTuber who uses a virtual avatar to show how elderly people can be active and vibrant. Her energy is invigorating to those who watch her.

【World’s First Virtual YouTuber】The Professional Art of Self-Deprecation|”I’ll Abandon Cuteness for the Sake of Self-Deprecation”【Kizuna AI】

Kizuna AI, whose popularity has been growing thanks to her consistently solid and hilarious content, has now uploaded a short video titled “Professional: The Art of Self-Deprecation,” which seems to be an homage to the TV show “Professional: The Way of Work,” leaving viewers bewildered and amused.

Kizuna AI starts gathering material for self-deprecating humor early in the morning, typing “No friends, no projects, views are declining” into her computer. She shows off her slightly exaggerated self-deprecating style. Her veteran technique is evident in how she makes the self-deprecation in this video genuinely funny by clearly stating her principle that “if it’s not funny, it’s not self-deprecation.” The way she tries to figure out how to act out the self-deprecation itself is a good gag, making it an excellent comedy video. Her commentary on how her cuteness and charisma are getting in the way is well-balanced, with parts that are strangely relatable and parts that make you smirk.

Kizuna AI, who played a major role in the recent “Niconico Old-Timers’ Club RUST” event and gained a new fanbase, has been featured in this video. Many new viewers were reminded of the old Niconico video style, and the comment section was buzzing with excitement. At the same time, long-time Kizuna AI fans may feel that this video is an even more powerful version of her early, energetic style. This video makes us look forward to seeing what direction Kizuna AI will take in the future.

Let’s eat some huge yakitori! [Vlog Yamagata | Main Koyanagi Store]

China Kuroo, a 77-year-old woman born in the Heisei era and living in Yamagata Prefecture, has uploaded a vlog about her visit to Koyanagi, a famous yakitori restaurant in Yamagata Prefecture. It’s a sophisticated food review that will make your stomach rumble just by watching it.

Watching them order skewers one after another—liver, heart, tongue, diaphragm, and cheek—while gulping down their drinks is exhilarating. This is a reliable review from someone who loves alcohol and is sharing their thoughts on the flavors.

This vlog is captivating thanks to its lively and engaging commentary. The way the host rhythmically talks about food shows genuine enjoyment, making it feel like you’re listening to a friend happily chatting about their experience while out drinking. The use of internet slang also adds to the friendly, casual feel, making it very pleasant to listen to. This video conveys the joy of eating delicious food so well that it makes you want to visit Yamagata just by watching it.

🎋OriPanda and Tanabata🎋 VR Musical Reading (Performance Second)

Kikyo Panda and Oriemon (voiced by voice actress Kimoto Orie) held a VR reading musical, “OriPanda and Tanabata,” in VRChat. This performance was also held on cluster recently, and it tells the story of Tanabata through a combination of dramatic reading and song. The world was created by Dokokano Usagi.

This is a dramatic reading where the characters open books placed around the world and read aloud. The story of Tanabata, which everyone is familiar with, is given a unique twist that makes the characters’ emotions clear, resulting in a high-quality entertainment experience. The inclusion of songs in the musical section further enhances the characters’ heightened emotions, making it a highlight. The structure is designed to strongly draw the audience into the story.

Furthermore, the VR-exclusive effects that draw the audience into the story are brilliantly incorporated, enhancing their sense of immersion. While the acting and music can be enjoyed on YouTube, participating in VR allows for a deeper appreciation of the world.

I hear that “The Little Prince” is being planned as the next production, so if you were intrigued after seeing this show, be sure to keep an eye on future developments.

【#CunningKingChampionship】Important Announcement!! Who is the most cunning in Hololive!? 【Yukihana Lamy / Hololive】

Yukihana Lamy held an “Azatoi King Championship” with Hololive members. The members had to recreate cutesy lines according to prepared themes, and compete to see who was the cutest. Of course, “cutesy” in this competition is meant as a compliment. The six participants were Yuzuki Choco, AZKi, Shirogane Noel, Omaru Polka, Laplace Darkness, and Hakui Koyori.

The first half consists of situational voice acting. Participants read long lines of dialogue that would make someone’s heart skip a beat if they were told them at an amusement park or festival, competing to see who can be the most charming. Each line is quite lengthy, making this a very engaging segment.

The second half features a segment where each character stands in a picture frame and delivers a short line. They express each character’s personality with as much cuteness as possible. The key is that being inside the frame transforms each phrase into a “work of art.” You can enjoy a variety of poses and lines that look great in screenshots.

The excellent selection of members is a major plus. Many of the members are capable of fully embracing “cutesy” behavior or elevating it to a humorous level, ensuring a thoroughly enjoyable experience. At the same time, the inclusion of Laplace Darkness and Omaru Polka, acting as “Hololive otaku” and adding a lively, energetic element, provides a nice spice. They are in a great position to enjoy and amplify everyone’s “cutesy” side, while simultaneously creating a charming contrast when they themselves engage in the behavior, doubling their cuteness. Who will ultimately be crowned the “King of Cuteness”? There are many nuanced moments, so try watching and scoring them as you go.

NAKARA / Kashikomari (Official Music Video)

Kashikomari’s new original music video has been released, featuring her shining brightly as she stands in the DJ booth with a beer mug in hand. It’s a fun pop tune that captures the liberating feeling unique to a night out in the city.

This song is memorable for its light, almost dance-like, polite vocals set to a four-on-the-floor rhythm that makes you want to move your body. There is absolutely no negativity in the way she sings and dances while drinking alcohol. As the lyrics say, “Failures and detours have all made me who I am today,” her singing voice is extremely positive. It is clear that she is encouraging herself and enjoying the present moment with a positive attitude. When she sings, “Don’t be afraid of the unknown, you only live once, get excited,” it seems as if she is not only boosting herself but also encouraging everyone around her and everyone listening.

Towards the end, the sight of her inviting numerous VTubers to dance with her is breathtaking. Her positive attitude, as she fully savors this exciting time with her friends, comes through in her singing and the visuals.

    【 #MV 】Dance Wednesday Hall / #Mochida Tomo

This is a song that will make you want to let yourself go with the funky rhythm. Mochida Tomo’s new original song, “Wednesday Dance Hall,” has been released. The filming location was “Complex7” in VRChat, a world where robots gather and spend their time.

For those who lead busy lives at work, Wednesday nights, the middle of the week, are a time to dance, chase away the blues, and recharge their energy. This down-to-earth happiness is sung about with a groovy voice.

What makes them relatable is that they’re not so reckless as to throw everything away, nor do they have so much energy that they dance all night until dawn. As the date changes while they’re having fun, they quietly pack up, saying, “We haven’t had quite enough fun yet, but instead of goodbye, let’s say see you tomorrow,” and return to their daily routines. It’s because they’re adults that they understand that “life is long yet short, and short yet long.” They don’t overdo it, they leave some energy in reserve, add a touch of joy to Wednesday in the middle of the week, and prepare for work again the next day.

Towards the end, there’s a scene where the energetic robots in the dance hall leave, leaving the viewer alone. This feeling of being brought back to reality after the festivities really hits home. The film is characterized by a refreshing yet lingering aftertaste, much like the feeling after finishing a slightly bitter beer.
