Cambridge welcomes cosplayers for 2026 Comic-Con

The City of Cambridge is no stranger to Comic-Con events, hosting multiple smaller local gatherings throughout the past few appearances. However, this year at the Oriental Sport Club their goal is to draw in a larger audience.

Sunday, Aug. 23, people around the Waterloo Region and beyond that plan on attending are encouraged to dress up in a cosplay. With these events often bringing in costumes of characters from a wide range of TV Shows, Movies, and Anime. Comic-Cons give people around the community a place where they can meet others with similar interests.

A special guest will be making an appearance at this year’s Comic-Con, Brutus the Barber Beefcake is in Cambridge. He will be signing autographs and taking photos before he makes another appearance in a later live wrestling match.

At the event you can expect to see many vendors, selling a range of trading cards, comic books, toys, games, jewellery and lots of artwork.

If you’re looking to sell collectables, some vendors will be buying different cards, comic books and other collectables.

In the events release, organizers say that, “Cambridge Comic-Con offers the local community an exciting and welcoming experience for everyone.” Adding that whether it is your first time attending a Comic-Con or you’re a lifelong fan, everyone is welcome.

The event will be running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., admission is $5 online, or $10 at the door. Kids 12 and under can enter for free.
