    • The upcoming series is a continuation of the seminal Marvel comic series, Wolverine: Origin, and is set to be released on December 16, 2026, written by Paul Jenkins and illustrated by CAFU.
    • Writer Paul Jenkins and illustrator CAFU express excitement and importance in being part of the project, with Jenkins emphasizing the significance of exploring Logan’s history and CAFU calling it the most important project of his career.

X-Men’sWolverine is getting a new comic series that will delve into one of the darkest chapters of Logan’s past. The upcoming series is a continuation of the seminal Marvel comic series, Wolverine: Origin.

Wolverine: Origin III – The Dark Age will arrive for sale on December 16, 2026. It is who had worked on 2001’s Wolverine: Origin with artist Andy Kubert. Meanwhile, renowned comic book artist CAFU provides the art

The upcoming series reveals the “never-before-told darkest period of Logan’s history.” Set after World War II, the series explores Wolverine’s harrowing psychological journey. It examines how Logan’s traumatic experiences of the 50s shaped him into the man he is now.

What did Paul Jenkins and CAFU say about the new X-Men Wolverine Origins comic?

Writer Paul Jenkins introduced Wolverine: Origin III – The Dark Age, explaining how it ties to Wolverine: Origin.

“Wolverine: Origin was foundational,” Jenkins said. “It did not simply tell us how, why, and where a young, frail Canadian named James Howlett became the superhero we know as Wolverine, it also showed his loss of innocence and his understanding of a cruel and difficult world.”

The writer added, “Now, after 25 years, I’m privileged to present this story I have waited over a quarter of a century to tell. Where did Logan go? Which parts of his story were lost to history? What led to the events of Weapon X? The answers are not going to be what you expect.”

Meanwhile, illustrator CAFU shared, “I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say this is the most important project I’ve worked on in my entire career.” He added, “Origin is one of my all-time favorite Wolverine stories, and I’ve loved Paul Jenkins’ work since I was a teenager. So, becoming a part of the continuation of that story and being able to tell a little more about Logan’s past is a dream come true.”

Wolverine: Origin III – The Dark Age is a five-issue limited series. The first issue arrives on December 16.
