The Livingston Parish Library will host Book-Con, a family-friendly festival celebrating literature and comic book culture, on Saturday, September 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Main Branch, located at 20390 Iowa Street in Livingston.
Book-Con marks the merging of two beloved library traditions – the annual Livingston Parish Book Festival and Comic Con – into one unforgettable event. Building on the popularity of both, Book-Con will bring together local authors, comic book vendors, artists, food trucks, and hands-on activities for a day celebrating all kinds of stories, under this year’s theme: “Celebrating All Stories.”
Highlights for Book-Con include:
- Authors Row:Meet and mingle with local authors spanning nearly every genre imaginable – romance, fantasy, historical fiction, cozy mysteries, children’s picture books, memoirs, and more.
- Vendor Market:Browse a lineup of local businesses and independent sellers offering everything from comic books, graphic novels, and pop culture collectibles to handmade art, crafts, and unique treasures you won’t find anywhere else.
- Community Row: Learn about the work of local non-profit organizations.
- Cosplay Contest:Dress as your favorite character from anime, gaming, comics, movies, or any fandom and compete for prizes while connecting with fellow fans.
- All-day activities: Games, crafts, balloon twisting, food trucks, and family-friendly attractions throughout the day for all ages.
The event is free and open to all ages. Parking and general event details are available atwww.mylpl.info/events/book-con.
