Someone really should tell Edith that when the Serpent Queen attacks, she attacks the jugular.

Meanwhile, others should also know that the Queen Mother’s venom is slow to act but spreads widely.

As expected, The Snake Queen brings an epic finale to season two that has plenty to look forward to.

This episode combines brilliant storytelling, award-winning costumes and masterful performances.

The Snake Queen knows how to captivate an audience with intoxicating drama, intrigue and dialogue that’s as sharp as a knife.

Snake Queen features a host of well-designed villains

The second season of Snake Queen brings viewers a lot of wit and extremely funny satire. But more importantly, the show gives viewers the kind of villain victory you can watch.

Of course, I’m talking about Queen Elizabeth. While this character isn’t the clear villain of the season, she’s still a foil to Katherine, and I loved every minute of this messy queen.

In every scene Queen Elizabeth is in, every line of dialogue she speaks is otherworldly. As far as I’m concerned, she’s the real Queen Elizabeth. Historical accuracy be damned.

No, if there’s one big bad thing this season, it’s obviously Edith and her fandom. More specifically, religion is the central evil of the season, one that brings out the worst in everyone.

Still, Edith (Isabelle Jasper Jones) is the one calling the shots and sitting right at the royal table. Too bad for her, she flew too close to the sun and realized her angel wings were made of paper mache, weren’t they?

I will say that I was really shocked that Catherine cut Edith’s throat like that.

While I loved the originality of The Snake Queen in terms of plot and storytelling, the series borrowed too many ideas from other popular period dramas. Namely Game of Thrones.

There’s not a person who can watch this episode who doesn’t immediately think of “The Red Wedding.”

Even though Antoinette fell to her knees, the Guises got what they wanted

Speaking of red, the Geese family is pretty much screwed right now. The rouged family frowned upon execution, exile, or permanent imprisonment.

The Cardinal nearly lost his mind, so it didn’t matter what happened to him. Especially since the order for the flowing robe has been suspended.

Don’t even get me started on the Duke! That guy is already another level of chaos.

From setting fire to a church, murdering a former lover, and disgraceful a princess at the behest of his mother, this man can suffer a murder-suicide in a single day.

It’s the family’s own fault for trying to go head-to-head with the Snake Queen, but to be fair, Antoinette (Beth Goddard) is a force of nature in her own right.

While the matriarch of Gith isn’t as determined or manipulative as Catherine, she has certainly proven her mettle.

While her sons may eventually complete their mother’s plot, that doesn’t mean the older woman will give up her cunning ways.

If there’s one thing Antoinette knows how to do, it’s get a man wrapped around her fingers. Specifically, Antoine Bourbon.

It’s time for the Bourbon family to get rid of Dodge

However, it might be a while before Antoinette and Antoine get another chance to make out in the kitchen.

OMG the Bourbons survived the finale. Well, almost any bourbon.

I actually hated the snake queen for killing Jenny. She is my favorite character.

She’s smart and stylish and knows how to influence everyone around her in her own way. The best part about this character is her ignorance.

For a character who always acts like she’s got everyone figured out, Jenny rarely knows what’s going on.

Now, Louis (Danny Keelan) and Antoine (Nicholas Burns) will likely go on the run. For two complete idiots, the Bourbon Brothers managed to get out of some pretty tough situations.

So, as far as Henry knew, he was simultaneously an orphan and a husband.

The question is how these circumstances will affect his marriage to Margot.

The princess is all he has now, and as we learn from Henry’s father in this episode, the boy is a bit of a psychopath. Let’s be honest, though, Margot might have to struggle a little.

Now Vance knows that if you mess with the Snake Queen, the rivers and streets will be red with blood

Granted, Charles went too far, but Catherine hit the jackpot when she called out her daughter.

Margot was a spoiled, whiny brat who never had to work or need anything in her life. Her sense of entitlement was at its highest.

Hasn’t she paid attention to what happened to her younger siblings? Did she really think she would live a happy life free from royal obligations?

I wanted to sympathize with the girl, but her loyalty was as tarnished as the streets of France at the end of “Halloween.”

One moment she’s madly in love with the Duke (Raza Jaffrey), the next she’s fully supportive of her new husband.

She has absolutely no loyalty to her family, and I can’t even begin to discuss how she uses every opportunity to manipulate Charles’ feelings for her.

Once again, Charles was wrong for beating and roughing her up, but Margot did need to grow up and take her mother’s advice.

Speaking of the Snake Queen, I know she won’t be waving the white flag. Still, I couldn’t have predicted so much carnage.

Granted, I’m the one who keeps saying this season finale will probably be bloody. And, oh, how right I was.

The rivers and streets were stained red with blood. This is both disturbing and unbelievable.

Whatever happens next, the show is primed for an exciting third season if it’s renewed.

The Snake Queen is a series that doesn’t hold back. It gives viewers everything they want and more.

Hopefully this Starz series continues for many more seasons because it is TV gold!

The writers, creators, producers, and everyone involved in the production worked together to create a show that continues to engage viewers long after the show goes off the air.

Frankly, I’m not someone who typically seeks out or enjoys period items. However, I love this show with one hundred percent enthusiasm!

There’s a lot of great dialogue, costumes, and storytelling. The Snake Queen is a series that everyone should have a chance to enjoy. Just bring your armor.

What do you think of the ending?

Will Snake Queen time jump again in season 3 or pick up right after season 2?
