Modern Warfare 4 Launches October 23 as a Standalone Release

Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23 as a standalone release and will not be available on Game Pass at launch.

A new Call of Duty title is a major moment for players, the franchise, and the industry. New maps to learn, new weapons to master, new metas to discover.

That next chapter begins on October 23 withCall of Duty®: Modern Warfare 4®.

Modern Warfare 4 will launch as a standalone release. To play the game at launch, players must purchase it separately; it will not be included with Game Pass until Holiday 2027.

What XBOX Players Need to Know

XBOX players can pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 through the XBOX Store on console, the XBOX app on PC, and the Microsoft Store.

Digital pre-ordering Modern Warfare 4 includes Campaign Early Access* (begins October 16) and DMZ Early Access** (begins October 20), the Hunter Killer Operator Skin and Gilded Pearl Camo Pack.

Players who pre-order any digital edition will also receive the Inner Circuit M4 Weapon Blueprint. For XBOX console players, the Inner Circuit Blueprint receives an OG Green translucent treatment, celebrating 25 years of XBOX.
