One of the most anticipated Fortnite crossovers in recent memory is finally here. Epic Games has officially revealed the Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts collaboration through a new trailer posted on X on September 15, 2026The latest trailer has essentially ended up confirming the four character skins that we will be able to see in the game, alongside a set of Keyblade Pickaxes and a powerful new Mythic weapon heading into the loot pool. The Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts collaboration is set to go live on September 17, 2026 after the server downtime for v42.20 update wraps up.The Keyblade Mythic weapon will likely arrive on September 17, 2026, alongside the 42.20 update. As for the cosmetics, the Kingdom Hearts skins should hit the Item Shop either on the same day or during the September 18 rotation. That makes for a busy week in Fortnite, since the Ironmouse skin is also scheduled to drop on September 18.
All Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts skins
Earlier teasers on September 13 hinted at what was coming, and the trailer confirmed it: Sora leads the lineup, joined by Kairi, Riku, and Roxas.Each character comes with their own signature Keyblade functioning as a Pickaxe:
- Sora – his Keyblade doubles as the collab’s Mythic weapon
- Roxas – Oblivion and Oathkeeper
- Riku – Way to Dawn
- Kairi – Destiny’s Embrace
All four sets will be purchasable from the Item Shop once they release.
The Keyblade Mythic Weapon
The headline addition is Sora’s Keyblade, entering the loot pool as a Mythic weapon on September 17. Unlike the other three Keyblades, which are purely cosmetic Pickaxes, Sora’s version is a functional combat item.In the trailer, we were able to notice the weapon casting Thundaga, which is a spell that unleashes a lightning strike within a small area-of-effect radius. This could mean Epic introducing spell mechanics into the collab. The spell may be stackable or recharge slowly over time, though Epic hasn’t confirmed the exact mechanics yet.

Beyond the particular spell, the Keyblade Mythic also features a spin attack and appears to grant the wielder a slight speed boost while equipped. Players looking to get their hands on it should check Rare and Relic Chests inside the Temple Vaults scattered across the island.
Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts map changes and cosmetics
The collaboration isn’t limited to skins and weapons. The trailer reveals that the in-game Moon is being reshaped into a giant heart as part of the crossover, a nod to the franchise’s iconic Kingdom Hearts imagery.This particular change will likely stick around until the end of the season, or at least until the rumored FNAF collab for Fortnitemares 2026 gets underway. A new pair of Kicks called Shadow Heartless is also joining the lineup.
