Zelda: Ocarina of Time Nintendo Switch 2 remake now has its ESRB rating

ESRB ratings generally aren’t significant, but we’ll make an exception here with the Nintendo Switch 2 remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Nintendo’s website for the game has now been updated. There isn’t much new as far as we can tell, but there is the inclusion of the ESRB rating – which is E10+.

Back in the day, for its N64 release, Zelda: Ocarina of Time was rated E (Everyone). Then when the Zelda: Ocarina of Time launched on Nintendo 3DS, it was E10+.

So yes, the new remake will mostly be kept in line with the Nintendo 3DS remaster. “Animated Blood” and “Fantasy Violence” are cited as reasons for the E10+ classification.

Interestingly, there is one thing that’s different – “Suggestive Themes” is not included for the Nintendo Switch 2 rating. This was previously a part of the classification for the Nintendo 3DS remaster. Make of that what you will.

And that’s all we know. Nintendo has been keeping quiet since its initial announcement last month, which was a brief teaser. It’s only a matter of time until we get a more substantial update, but for now we’re still dealing with these small tidbits. We previously heard that the game will feature “stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay”.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is still planned to hit Nintendo Switch 2 sometime this year. If anything else noteworthy surfaces, we’ll be sure to let you know.
