Scott Snyder‘s (Absolute Batman) acclaimed horror comic Wytches is returning this fall in an expanded and remastered edition ahead of its upcoming Amazon MGM Studios adaptation.
Image Comics has announced Wytches, Vol. 1: Pledged Edition, which reunites Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman) and artist Jock (Batman, The Losers) in what the creators are calling the definitive version of the acclaimed horror series.
The new trade paperback collects Wytches #1-6, the Wytches: Bad Egg Halloween Special, material from issue #7 of the Image! anthology, and features a significant portion of the book recolored by Matt Hollingsworth to match the look of the upcoming animated TV series.
“Wytches was a deeply personal book, born out of the real fears I had as an anxious parent. It’s one of my favorite projects, and creating it with Jock made it all the better,” said Scott Snyder. “So I’m incredibly excited to present it again in this new, souped-up edition with all the stories we’ve told over the years collected in one volume. Plus the new colors by Matt Hollingsworth make this the definitive version Jock and I meant to tell. This is a must-buy for any Litchfield fans and those waiting for the TV show!”
Originally announced at Image Expo in 2014, Wytches became one of the publisher’s biggest releases of the year, selling through multiple printings while earning widespread acclaim and becoming one of the defining horror comics of the past decade.
