Fortnite players are well accustomed to the slew of regular content updates, and the latest period of downtime is taking place on October 1, meaning servers are unavailable.
Following the launch of Chapter 7 Season 4 last month, Epic Games is shaking up Fortnite once again with another major update, continuing the trend of providing downtime and new content every two weeks.
If you’re wondering when you can jump back into Fortnite today, Insider Gaming has all the details.
When Will Fortnite Servers Be Back Up?

Fortnite servers are down for several hours for the October 1 update, which arrives as the latest update in the standard two-week cycle and the penultimate update of the season.
While Epic Games hasn’t provided an exact time for the servers to be back online, previous updates provide an indication of when that will be, with it expected that servers will be back at 6 AM ET/11 AM BST.

That’s not nailed down, however, and there could be delays, especially if Epic Games encounters any issues when deploying the latest update and content, which will, of course, need to be resolved.
As ever, the best place to keep track of when the Fortnite servers are back online is social media, and make sure to update your game before the servers are back so you can jump in immediately.
What’s in The Fortnite October 1 Update?
Fortnite’s October 1 update is headlined by the start of the annual Fortnitemares event, which is once again packed with some huge collabs.
The long-awaited debut of Five Nights at Freddy’s is a standout, but Freddy Fazbear and co. aren’t the only ones bringing a fright to the Battle Royale island.

Key art for the event revealed Slenderman, Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street, Obsession, The Purge, and Beetlejuice will all have a part to play, and there could be more coming in the next few weeks.
Fortnitemares is a month-long event, with a second update expected in two weeks time before the move to the final season of Chapter 7 in early November.
