Ready to embark on a new mission? The Edge presents Titan – Chapter 2, its latest 4D virtual reality adventure, at 60, Rue Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth, in Paris’s 3rd arrondissement. For a group outing, participants can tackle team-based puzzles during a session of about one hour, including 45 minutes in virtual reality.

A hostile territory to explore together

Upon arrival, the adventure unfolds in a vast desert world whose mysteries are still to be unraveled. The publisher is keeping the mission details under wraps for now, but promises a game that blends observation, player-to-player exchanges, and puzzles. That should keep the whole team busy: you’ll need to brainstorm between discoveries.

Our Titan test, The Edge’s second adventure:

A experience the editorial team got to try. On arrival, you’re greeted by staff who guide you to the briefing room: a spaceship interior where, during takeoff, you’re briefed on the mission. Then a Game Master, once you arrive, leads you to your personal space. You strap on a haptic vest, wrists strapped with controllers, slip on the headset, and you’re off into the adventure!

On Titan, keep an eye on your surroundings: puzzles await you (just after the first door), and they aren’t always immediately obvious. A brief acclimation period helps, and to avoid the long tunnel where everyone stares one another down, a tip: keep a hand on the floor stems… Consider it a gift from us, you’re welcome, and it’ll save you time. As for the other enigmas, they’re fairly approachable and will require some communication.

    Unleash the pistoguns!

The big draw of this VR experience is the gameplay. Everything pivots around a weapon that can transform into a grappling hook (very handy) or into a “UV lamp” that reveals text or invisible symbols on certain walls. It’s clever, well thought-out, and will give you solid minutes of interaction with various mechanisms. But what would VR be without some FPS thrills? That’s where the experience truly shines: you’ll need to defeat a variety of creatures and reload your gun (in a pretty intuitive way). A single guideline here: go for it. The haptic vest will deliver some thrilling sensations, too. Just watch out so the enemies don’t nick you—otherwise your jacket will be buzzing non-stop.

    Have fun!

Because that’s, after all, the point of the experience. It’s all accessible enough to challenge you without frying your brain. The equipment adds an extra layer of immersion, a unique edge compared with what other venues offer.

Now all that’s left is to come and experience it for yourself and form your own opinion.

    Wind, Heat, and Impacts

The environment must also be felt physically. Titan combines virtual reality with wind, heat and vibration effects, the latter allowing you to feel the impacts on your gear. This is the mix The Edge designates as 4D. The sensations thus accompany what unfolds before our eyes.

According to the retailer, no gaming experience is required to participate. The session, billed as about an hour, includes a briefing and a debrief, with roughly 45 minutes spent in virtual reality, and the game available in French and English.

For those who’ve already embarked on the Ganymede voyage, this second chapter opens up a fresh avenue to explore. Now the question is what Titan’s landscapes have in store for the crew at The Edge!
