High-quality videos from VTubers (Virtual YouTubers) and virtual creators are uploaded every day. From among them, I’ll introduce some videos that I personally think you should definitely watch. In particular, I’ll delve deeper into unique works, works with high technical skill and planning ability, and works that are timely, capturing the fun, effort, and talent of the creators!

Latest Lavender Picking of the Reiwa Era 2026

This video is a vlog-style compilation of footage from when Saito Nonnon, Kasukabe Tsukushi, and Yotsutsuji Yukino went lavender picking. It’s a vlog where their avatars appear in live-action footage, but Saito Nonnon’s video has a particularly unique feel to it

This video, showing the three girls having fun and being playful, is adorable. Although the title is “Reiwa’s Latest Model,” Saito Nonnon’s videos are characterized by their picture quality, which resembles a Showa-era videotape. Since it was filmed with her favorite camera, the video has a retro feel, making you feel as if you have traveled back in time while watching it

Several other videos have also been uploaded with a retro-style visual presentation. Because of the aged footage, the fusion of live-action and avatars feels natural. The unique blend of modern and old-fashioned elements is quite addictive, so be sure to check them out

[Experiment] When would listeners notice if a VTuber’s real identity was replaced? *First time meeting

While it’s generally understood that VTubers have the same avatar and actor (the person inside), what would happen if the person inside were secretly swapped? Professor Amana conducted an experiment to find out. How many people would notice during a one-hour stream…?

The person who took her place was Hinagi Riyo. She didn’t particularly try to sound like her; her avatar remained the same, and the switch was done seamlessly. The live stream at that time can be seen here.
Upon actually watching, it was clear that people had noticed quite easily. At the same time, a few people hadn’t noticed, creating a strange situation. Professor Tenna herself was enjoying watching and commenting on the scene. The prank wasn’t revealed during the live stream, and was only revealed in this video.
This experiment was only possible because of the existence of a VTuber avatar. I don’t know if this style of live streaming service will be viable as a business, but this video is an experimental test to see if it’s fun to have a little fun like this once in a while, even if it’s obviously fake.

【Collaboration】We identified Aeon Mall with pizza🍕【Shizuma Rei / Tsumugi Nen】

An unusual collaboration took place between AI VTuber Nen Tsumugi and Mall Aeon-affiliated VTuber Rei Shizuma. Nen Tsumugi, who can engage in conversation using AI, prepared photos of a pizza shop. Shizuma Rei was then challenged to identify which Aeon Mall it was based solely on the photos. A battle between human and AI—what will the outcome be…?

This time, Mall Aeon’s VTuber Rei Shizuma not only answered all the questions, but also provided plenty of supplementary information, resulting in an impressive outcome. Rather than saying that the human being was amazing, all I can say is that Shizuma Rei was amazing.
AI gets smarter and smarter as it learns, and it seems that Tsumugi has become much more knowledgeable about Aeon Mall through this collaboration.
While the video showcases Shizuma Rei’s overwhelming knowledge, it’s also surprising to see how naturally Tsumugi Nen converses with her. Her previous AI training has paid off, allowing her to collaborate smoothly with humans.

    10 Questions for Otsuta Elle!

This is a video series featuring Shareton, an ordinary person from the demon world, who asks questions submitted by viewers and has them answered. This time, the questions are for Otsuka El, who graduated at the end of June. A unique feature of this series is that the person answering the questions does not appear in the video

That said, about half of the questions in this series are serious, and the other half are playfully absurd, which is a defining characteristic. This time, too, we can see that relaxed sense of balance.
Viewers throw questions like, “Have you ever had a project that made you want to punch the producer?” and “How can the Chunichi Dragons become stronger?”, to which Otsuka El, with the quick wit he likely honed during his time at Chukyo TV, answers them sharply. Shareton then uniquely summarizes the conversation, interspersed with witty remarks. The video is edited to be fast-paced and easy to watch.
While it might seem like a sad occasion since Otsuka El is graduating from being a VTuber, this series by Shareton is lighthearted and enjoys playful teasing, so there’s absolutely no sentimental atmosphere. On the contrary, it has a lighthearted feel, like “please continue to support us in the future,” making it a cheerful watch that fans who are saddened by her retirement should definitely check out.

For everyone craving excitement, head to the flea market!!! [vlog]

Subtaro is full of energy, has a keen interest in subculture, and charges headfirst into things driven by his curiosity. This time, he has uploaded a vlog of his visit to a flea market in search of some excitement

Subtaro’s lively commentary, interspersed with observations and witty remarks while enjoying the atmosphere of the venue, is engaging and keeps you interested.
What’s particularly interesting is the latter half, where he reads old magazines he bought at a flea market. The content, which describes the realities of wartime, is powerful. He says that if they had been on display in a museum, he wouldn’t have been so shocked.
At the flea market, everyday items are displayed alongside a jumble of books and photographs imbued with history. The video conveys that the presence of old magazines, casually sold as part of a continuous flow of time connected to our present lives, greatly enhances the sense of reality in their contents. This video is full of the charm of a flea market, a place you can easily visit and experience in the space between the extraordinary and the ordinary.

The Girl Who Watches the Stars / Hoshimachi Suisei (official)

Project Stargazer, a collaboration between Hoshimachi Suisei and JTB, has launched. This project is described as a “resonance” with JTB, where “through Hoshimachi Suisei pioneering uncharted landscapes, she will resonate with worlds yet to be seen and create a new future” (according to PRTIMES)

This music video and statement film are self-shot vlogs depicting Hoshimachi Suisei’s journey from Japan to Kazakhstan. The way Hoshimachi Suisei sways naturally as she walks and moves around in vehicles is incredibly realistic. You can see Hoshimachi Suisei naturally immersed in the real world. The snapshots interspersed throughout the footage, which seem to capture her past, are also very emotional.
The song, written, composed, and arranged by Harumaki Gohan, is brimming with the excitement of embarking on a journey. Hoshimachi Suisei’s singing voice, which resonates as if soaring across the land, is truly refreshing to the soul. Listening to her signature, captivating high notes in the chorus, you’ll feel as if you’re gazing up at the starry sky in a faraway foreign land.

A new commercial for Lotte’s “Coolish” and “Soh” ice creams, featuring a collaboration between Suisei Hoshimachi and virtual singer Hatsune Miku, has also been released. The song they sing is “Ao no Sumika” by Kitan Tatsuya. The refreshing image of the two delivering ice cream and singing amongst school students perfectly matches their characters and hair colors. It’s a refreshing commercial that will blow away the summer heat

VocaDuo2026, a festival of original songs, will be held!

“VocaDuo2026,” a music festival where “singers × Vocaloid producers × illustrators × video editors × mixing engineers” team up to create original songs, is currently underway. Many VTubers are participating again this year, and numerous masterpiece music videos showcasing their skills have been released. Here are some of the highlights!

“Yofukashi no Theory,” a song by the team “Quantum Candy Shower,” featuring vocalist Kanro Watagashi and music by Takahiro Nishijima, is a lighthearted song about the excitement of the night. The song depicts a girl who dreams of a grand adventure, sung with a gentle voice and illustrated with charming animation. The first half of the song is written entirely in hiragana, but the lyrics change to include kanji at the end, allowing for a deeper understanding of the song’s meaning. The music video itself is of such high quality that it wouldn’t feel out of place on NHK’s “Minna no Uta” (Everyone’s Songs).

The song “Buddy,” released by the team “Kensou Minna,” featuring vocalist Yume Yumekawa and musician Fuwarihachikai Chikawari, is a work that overwhelms you from the very beginning with its machine-gun-like, super-fast rap vocals. The song’s first half is a whirlwind of high speed, but the second half jumps even higher, transitioning to a part where two sets of lyrics are sung simultaneously. You’ll be surprised by the overlapping of lyrics that sound similar but have completely different meanings. You can’t help but take your hat off to Yumekawa Yume’s vocal ability to sing this super-fast song so smoothly.

“Enka,” a song by the team “Shoka,” consisting of vocalist/videographer Kouno Pochi and music-maker dog Drink, is an addictive piece with a strange melody that gives you the illusion of listening to it on a sweltering summer evening, feeling dizzy and hazy, and a vocal performance that twists the festive atmosphere with a sense of melancholy. The video production, which evokes the feel of a Showa-era CRT television, is also cleverly done, making it a work that makes you dizzy the more you listen to it.

“Nukegara,” a song by the team “Nukegara” consisting of vocalist Suzugami Utane and musician Nnaora, is a refreshing piece that evokes the feeling of a summer breeze or the effervescence of opening a bottle of lemonade, with its sparkling tones and emotionally charged vocals that have a touch of transience. While it is full of summer imagery such as cumulonimbus clouds, insect cages, and open swimming pools, it skillfully depicts the feeling of being trapped in summer. The use of the word “untouchable” is particularly captivating.

“Classmate” is a song by “2nd Year Class C Friends,” a team comprised of nyankobrq, Yaca, gaburyu, somunia, and Otoha, all of whom handle lyrics, composition, vocals, and illustrations. Each member expresses their individuality through vocals, illustrations, and lyrics, yet the way they come together is reminiscent of a diverse classroom. It’s a fun, multifaceted song that blends various theories about “friendship.” What’s unique is that the arrangement is credited as “nyankobrq VS gaburyu VS Otoha.” The competition among these creators also seems to be a testament to their friendship.

“Shall We Meows?” by the team “Neko Neko Network,” featuring vocalist Serena Hanazono and music by OzaShin, is a happy tune with an incredibly cheerful melody and cute vocals that stick in your head. This exciting song, filled with the joy of being a cat, is accompanied by a fun, lively animated movie. It’s a dreamy piece that will make you want to become a cat yourself!

“After We Fade,” featuring vocals by Sorazumi Sena, lyrics by Shohei Koga (YOURNESS), and music by Shohei Koga (YOURNESS) and yukirie, is a song that depicts the growth of a young girl. A girl who loved singing as a child continues to work hard to fulfill her dream, but becomes timid and afraid of singing, fearing that she won’t be able to achieve it… Yet, she confronts her feelings, saying “The sound is searching for me,” and this is sung with passionate vocals. Be sure to watch the music video to see her take a courageous step forward.

“Ghost” by the team “August 32nd,” featuring vocalist Shio Yuunagi and musician kous, is a shoegaze-style track with a roaring, reverberating sound. The delicate, melancholic vocals resonate clearly, while the sound production creates a sense of being swallowed up by waves of sound like a crowd of people passing by. The song expresses the realization that what was thought to be changeable by impulse alone cannot be changed by impulse alone, and the line “Goodbye, find me again in the next world” is filled with a sense of helplessness that pierces the heart.

“No rain, no flowers” by the team “SUSHI IN THE RAIN,” consisting of vocalists Umapi (an unidentified animal), Nanashino Sayo, and Tsurigane Fuuri, composer sumeshiii a.k.a. Virtual Sushi, and lyricist Mashiro Yuki, is a positive pop song. Just as the title suggests, the song conveys a positive message that flowers bloom precisely because of the hardships one faces, through its bright and powerful lyrics and the three singers’ voices. The three singers’ interplay of vocals and the harmonies in the chorus are filled with a dazzling brilliance.

“hyperlink,” by the team “Let’s Take Over Discord and Everyone Scare Involved!”, featuring vocalist Kotori Sakuraoto and music by Akuta Renri, is a song filled with the hopeful feelings of connecting through the internet, and the excitement of embarking on a journey. The song’s exhilarating speed, impactful interlude, and sparkling, beautiful high-pitched vocals evoke the thrill of connecting in the early days of the internet

“FlameBlue no Shokei” by the team “pH7.0,” consisting of vocalist Asahino Aqua, composer/videographer yokoyan, and lyricist Yuki Wakasugi. Asahino Aqua’s soaring high notes and intensely passionate singing voice are incredibly powerful and moving. “FlameBlue” is apparently a type of hydrangea, but it also has a double meaning, referring to the blue flames burning at high temperatures, which seems to perfectly represent the passionate drive of this song

“DOOOOOOOPE” by the team “Lovely Charming Antagonist,” consisting of vocalist Loveka Lapis and musician Imagera, is a rock number with a piercing psychedelic sound. Loveka Lapis’s alluring vocals, singing the drastically fluctuating melody line, stimulate the brain in a dizzying way. The oppressive feeling of being in a hospital room and the unsettling sense of a sharp mind that arises within that environment are expressed through the undulating guitar tones and the dizzying vocals that seem to drift away, making it a truly dope song.
