The Rookie fans, mark your calendars.
The procedural drama is in the middle of filming season 9, and fans are eager to see more of LAPD Mid-Wilshire ahead of its early 2027 premiere on ABC. Before that, though, some of the cast and executive producers are reuniting at the 2026 New York Comic-Con for a panel on Sunday, October 11 at 2:15 p.m. ET at the Javits Center.
The cast members who will attend haven’t been confirmed yet. But TV Insider noted on September 29 that the panel will have them “discussing the upcoming ninth season premiere, its streaming growth, becoming a viral hit with young viewers and much more.”
Shortly after the news broke, fans were excited about seeing their favorite cast members.
“The Rookie Cast will attend New York Comic Con 2026 on Oct. 8! OH PLEASE LET IT BE THE WHOLE FAM! 🙏🏼,” one person wrote on X. “The Rookie are going to be in New York for the Comic-Con in October this better be the entire cast 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻,” another also begged.
Nathan Fillion, Melissa O’Neil, Richard T. Jones, Alyssa Diaz, Eric Winter, Mekia Cox, Shawn Ashmore, Jenna Dewan, Lisseth Chavez, andDeric Augustineall appeared at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con in late July, and creator/executive producer Alexi Hawley gave a major clue about the premiere.
“It’s a two-parter, so it won’t all be resolved in one episode—there’s a lot going on,” he said at the time about The Rookie season 9 premiere, per Deadline. “I think it’s the best of what we do—it’s incredibly high stakes, dramatic. It’s a love story, it’s funny and unexpected. I just wish everything up to wait till January to see it.”
Fingers crossed we get more details this weekend!
