On October 23, LiTMUS announced that the horror game character “Ao Oni” will begin activities as a VTuber. The first broadcast is scheduled for October 30 from 8 PM to 10 PM JST on the “Ao Oni Channel” on YouTube. They will be playing Capcom’s Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
Ao Oni will move using Live2D, reacting with its entire body to the game’s progression. LiTMUS states that a key feature of the stream will be “complete silence,” meaning the content will be conveyed through game audio, visuals, and Ao Oni’s movements, rather than conversational commentary.
The concept behind these activities is to support horror games. It plans to cover a wide range of titles, from famous blockbusters to indie games, regardless of their scale. Viewers are invited to share their thoughts and chat in the comments section, and also to submit requests for games they’d like Ao Oni to play.
“Ao Oni” is based on the horror game released in 2004. It became widely known through game livestreams. The monster that once chased players will now be on the side of playing games.
