Nintendo has taken a clear lead in U.S. physical video game sales this year, making up 63% of new boxed game purchases, according to new industry data. PlayStation is at 32%, and Xbox is a little over 4%.
US physical software sales fell to $85 million in July, the lowest monthly total since Circana began tracking in 1995.

A new physical edition of Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf is heading to PlayStation this October. Entitled the ‘Kindred Spirits Edition’, the new release contains some unique goodies alongside the game itself.

So far, PlayStation and Take-Two Interactive have been the most vocal proponents of moving away from physical game media, often citing sales figures to support their stance.
