N.C. (WECT) – A summer-themed haunted market coming to Wilmington next month will bring together local creators, oddities artists and horror fans to celebrate Halloween early

Weird & Wicked Events announced “Summer Scream: A Haunted Market” will take place Saturday, Aug. 8, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wilmington Elks Lodge. The gathering aims to unite horror enthusiasts, pop culture fans, metaphysical practitioners and alternative shoppers.

“Supporting our weird and wonderful community means giving local creators, oddities artists, and fellow fans of the strange a dedicated space to showcase their passion year-round,” said Emily Griffin, owner of Weird & Wicked Events.

The market will highlight local vendors offering horror-themed art, oddities, vintage collectibles, tarot readings, metaphysical supplies, and alternative merchandise. On-site food and beverage options will also be available, including Kimchi Taco.

Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes, with organizers suggesting themes ranging from classic horror villains and summer camp slashers to original dark styles.

Admission is $5 at the door, and children 12 and under are free. Because of limited parking, organizers encourage attendees to use ride-sharing services to reach the venue.
