Anew trailerhas been revealed for the upcomingSuikoden: The Animeseries, which previews the show’s main opening theme song, as well as the addition of three more cast members. The anime is set to begin broadcasting in Japan in October 2026 with a special extended 60-minute first episode.
Japanese rock bandamazarashi‘s performs the anime’s opening theme “Kanashimi Sae Otonobite,” which is highlighted in the trailer.
In addition, the threenew voice cast membersjoining the series includeHitoshi Yamanoias Agared Blight,Miyuki Sawashiroas Anabelle, andHiroki Sakaias Jess.

Yuzo Sato(exception, MUTEKING THE Dancing HERO) is directing the anime series, withMichihiro Tsuchiya(Akane-Banashi, Lostorage inflated WIXOSS, Lostorage conflated WIXOSS) as series composer, Konami Entertainment’sAtsushi Ishikawaas game character designer,Ryo Yamauchi(Please Put Them On, Takamine-sanco-character designer) as animation character designer, andKoji Nakamura(Eureka Seven AO) as music composer.
Konami Digital Entertainment’sArata Suzukiis credited with the animation character design drafts for the series.KONAMI animationis in charge of the animation production.
Suikoden: The Animeis an adaptation ofKonami Computer Entertainment’s JRPGSuikoden II, which was originally released in 1998 for the PlayStation and received a remaster in 2025 (which was released with the first game’s remaster asSuikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars).
Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Warswas released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, and Epic Games Store. A Switch 2 release followed later. A new entry in the series, Suikoden: Star Leap, will be released on mobile and Steam in the future.
