Star Ocean: The Second Story R Nintendo Switch 2 tech improvements detailed

Yesterday, Square Enix surprise announced and released a new Nintendo Switch 2 version of Star Ocean: The Second Story R. The company didn’t really explain what’s improved over the original Nintendo Switch release, but we now have full details.
Right out of the gate, you’re getting a frame rate boost with Star Ocean: The Second Story R on Nintendo Switch 2. This version now runs at 60 FPS. In comparison, it was 30 FPS on Nintendo Switch.
Resolution is another area of improvement. In both docked and handheld play, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Star Ocean: The Second Story R runs at 1080p. The Nintendo Switch release was 576p in handheld mode and 864p when docked.
Square Enix also says Star Ocean: The Second Story R has some extra visual flourishes on Nintendo Switch 2. These include increased texture resolution, additional objects, and improved shadow resolution.
