Yet another Square Enix game has just appeared out of nowhere with a Nintendo Switch 2 version – this time it’s Star Ocean: The Second Story R. It is available now on the Nintendo eShop
Star Ocean: The Second Story R previously appeared on Nintendo Switch. The store description doesn’t make it immediately clear about enhancements, but on Nintendo Switch 2, the game should at least offer a higher resolution
Keeping in line with other Square Enix games, there doesn’t appear to be a Nintendo Switch to Switch 2 upgrade path. Also, save data is not compatible between the two versions

- An iconic soundtrack rearranged by Motoi Sakuraba: All tracks have been re-composed, including full-band performance and strings sound. Exploration and movie scenes themes also have new recordings that take them to even greater heights.
