If you’re a Kingdom Hearts fan and a Fortnite player, this week just got a whole lot more exciting. Fortnite officially revealed that Sora, the iconic Keyblade wielding hero from the beloved Disney and Square Enix franchise is joining the game as a playable character skin, and he’s arriving this week!
What Does the Sora Skin Look Like?
Fortnite shared a reveal video on social media, and Sora looks very much like himself. He’s sporting his classic Kingdom Hearts look, complete with his Keyblade. There is one fun Fortnite twist though, instead of the Mickey Mouse charm that typically hangs from his Keyblade, this version features a Loot Llama charm in its place. It’s a small but clever detail that bridges both worlds perfectly.
When Can You Get It?
Fortnite hasn’t pinned down an exact release date beyond saying Sora will be available “this week.” However, a major game update is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, which is the most likely drop date. Keep an eye on Fortnite’s social channels for the official announcement.

Could More Kingdom Hearts Characters Be Coming?
Here’s where it gets even more exciting for Kingdom Hearts fans. There are already rumors circulating that Kairi, Riku, and Roxas could also be making their way to Fortnite in the future. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if Sora is just the beginning, we could be looking at a much bigger Kingdom Hearts presence in the game.
Kingdom Hearts Is Having a Moment
The timing couldn’t be better for this crossover. Kingdom Hearts IV is currently in development with a trailer already released earlier this year. On top of that, a Kingdom Hearts anime series is in the works for both Disney Channel and Disney+. The franchise is clearly building toward something big, and Sora landing in one of the most popular games in the world is only going to keep the hype going.
