Sony Skipping CES for First Time Since 1967 – News
A Sony spokesperson has told Bloomberg the company will not be attending the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2027. This is the first time it will be skipping the annual tradeshow since the event started in 1967.
Sony stated the decision to skip CES 2027 is due to its current focus on “entertainment, intellectual property, and technology geared to support creators.”
“We continuously and strategically evaluate our approach to events and communications based on the needs and priorities of our diverse business,” the spokesperson added.
PlayStation previously unveiled the PS5 logo at CES in 2020 and announced PlayStation VR2 and Horizon: Call of the Mountain at the tradeshow in 2022.
Sony and PlayStation has been skipping in person video game events for several years with a focus on online pre-recorded showcase like with the State of Play and PlayStation Showcase.
