Sony CEO Says PlayStation Hasn’t Fixed a Release Date for PS6 Yet – News

Sony CEO Hiroko Totoki in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal revealed PlayStation hasn’t decided on a release date yet for the PS6.

Multiple analysts are predicting the PS5 will launch in 2027, however, they added due to the component shortage that could change and the release for the console could be pushed back.

“Totoki said the company still hasn’t fixed a date for PS6’s launch,” reads the article.

The component shortages and increased prices for storage and memory due to the building of AI data centers are an issue for Sony and Totoki said, “Considering that importance, we need to take some action. Otherwise, we cannot survive in this landscape.”
