MUMBAI: The kitchen is about to get a comic makeover, with Sony AATH turning up the heat on Bengali entertainment.
Sony AATH is set to launch Raandhuni Na Kaandhuni, which the channel describes as the first unscripted Bengali comedy cooking show in the West Bengal market. The new format brings food and humour together, using an unpredictable kitchen setting for spontaneous interactions, playful challenges and celebrity-led entertainment.
The channel has unveiled the promo, giving viewers a first look at host Ankush in a lively avatar as he navigates cooking and unexpected comic moments. Rather than following the familiar recipe of a conventional cooking show, Raandhuni Na Kaandhuni places the personalities and their unscripted interactions at the centre of the format.
The line-up includes Kanchan Mullick, Sreemoyee Chattoraj, Saurav Das, Darshana Banik, Iman Chakraborty, Sujoy Prasad Chatterjee, Rupanjana Mitra, Ushasi Ray, Sushmit Mukherjee, Annwesha Hazra and Shyamoupti Mudly.
The show is designed to use cooking as a backdrop for candid conversations, playful exchanges and surprises, bringing together recognisable faces from the Bengali entertainment industry.
Ambesh Tiwari, Business Head, Sony YAY! and Sony AATH, said the show marks the channel’s move into original unscripted entertainment in Bengal. He said the format is part of Sony AATH’s strategy to diversify its portfolio with locally relevant concepts while combining food and humour with familiar Bengali personalities.
The format also taps into two familiar ingredients of Bengali popular culture food and entertainment but gives both a less scripted treatment. With the outcome of each kitchen challenge potentially as unpredictable as the punchline, the show is looking to make the cooking itself part of the comedy.
Raandhuni Na Kaandhuni will premiere on October 3, 2026, at 9:30 PM exclusively on Sony AATH.
