Skybound Entertainment is heading to New York Comic Con 2026 with new comic book announcements, a look at the future of the Energon Universe, and a massive creator signing.
Running October 8 through October 11, this year’s NYCC will see Skybound host two major panels, including one promising the world-premiere reveal of an all-new slate of comics. Fans of Transformers, G.I. Joe, Void Rivals,andM.A.S.K. will also get an early look at what’s ahead for the Energon Universe.
Skybound teases its next wave of comics
The announcements begin Friday, October 9 with Skybound Comics: Vision for the Future, a panel dedicated to what’s coming next from the publisher.
Skybound is keeping the actual projects under wraps for now, but the creator lineup offers plenty to speculate about. Stephen Graham Jones (The Buffalo Hunter Hunter), Leandro Fernández (The Old Guard), Tate Brombal (Everything Dead and Dying), Matt Emmons (The Council of Frogs), and Doug Mahnke (Batman: The Man Who Laughs) will join Skybound Executive Editor Ben Abernathy for the presentation.
Skybound Editorial Director Alex Antone will moderate the panel, which promises the unveiling of an all-new comics slate and some surprise creators.
Skybound Comics: Vision for the Future takes place Friday, October 9 from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. in Javits Center North, Room 406.3.
What’s next for the Energon Universe?
On Saturday, attention turns to the Energon Universe with Transformers & G.I. Joe: What’s Next for the Energon Universe Comics?
Robert Kirkman (Void Rivals, Transformers), Dan Watters (M.A.S.K.), Tom Reilly (G.I. Joe), Jason Howard (Transformers), and Conor Hughes (Void Rivals) will discuss the future of Skybound and Hasbro’s shared universe.
The panel will cover what’s coming for Transformers, G.I. Joe, Void Rivals, and M.A.S.K., with Abernathy serving as moderator.
Transformers & G.I. Joe: What’s Next for the Energon Universe Comics? takes place Saturday, October 10 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Javits Center North, Room 406.2.
Energon Universe creators head to Midtown Comics
Skybound is also bringing back its annual Energon Universe group signing at Midtown Comics Times Square on Friday night.
This year’s event expands beyond the core Energon Universe lineup to include talent from the upcoming G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero / Tomb Raider miniseries.
Kyle Higgins, Dan Watters, Tom Reilly, Andrea Milana, Jason Howard, Conor Hughes, and Ben Abernathy are scheduled to appear.
The signing takes place Friday, October 9 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Midtown Comics Times Square.
