Shrek 2 Remastered is on the way, according to a new leak.
Shrek 2 originally released on the GameCube in 2004. Aspyr is now bringing it back for the modern era with improved graphics, new features like a Photo Mode and Cheat Mode, and more.
Xbox just put up a store listing for the title today. We can’t say for certain that this one is coming to Nintendo platforms, but given Aspyr’s support, it seems very likely that we’ll be getting it on Switch 2 / Switch.
Here’s an official overview with more details:
Journey through the fairytale kingdom of Far Far Away from Shrek’s swamp to Fiona’s castle and everywhere in between, in a classic action-adventure experience inspired by the DreamWorks Animation movie. Play solo or with up to three friends in co-op, take control of your favorite Shrek heroes as you smash, throw and kick your way against iconic characters from the franchise.
Improved graphics: Everything has been rebuilt with better textures, enhanced UI, 4K resolution and cutscenes.
New features: Create timeless snapshots using the new Photo Mode and unlock cheats in Cheat Mode to make your playthrough a seamless experience.
Up to 4-player Couch Co-op, Online or Mixed: A cozy, team-based co-op action-adventure game, playable solo or up to 4-Player Couch Co-Op, Online Multiplayer, and Mixed Online Multiplayer & Couch Co-Op.
Immersive levels straight out of a fairytale: From Shrek’s swamp to the castle of Far Far Away, relive iconic moments from the movie featuring beloved characters and hidden Easter Eggs.
Swap heroes at any time: Swap your hero to battle enemies, conquer bosses, and solve environmental puzzles using their unique abilities to advance in the story.
Travel back to a nostalgic era of gaming for some pick-up-and-play casual fun.
