#5: Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories – Liliana #1
‘Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories – Liliana’ #1 review
Any fan of Magic: The Gathering, especially those who love Liliana and want to know more about her, will love this lovely and haunting book that promises much more to come. The art is beautiful throughout and the writing captures Liliana perfectly. There’s a great balance of character moments and action.

#4: Wolverine: Paradise #1
‘Wolverine: Paradise’ #1 is a refreshing take
Wolverine: Paradise #1 is a stylish, atmospheric debut that reminds us why giving a talented creator complete control can lead to something special. Dan Panosian captures the laid-back spirit of the 1970s while exploring a Wolverine who desperately needs a break but can’t ignore his heroic instincts. The artwork is phenomenal, with expressive character acting and inventive layouts that make every scene a pleasure to experience. A little more story would have been welcome, especially given the amount of promotional back matter, but this is a wonderfully refreshing take on Wolverine.

#3: The Doom Patrol #2
‘The Doom Patrol’ #2 continues All In’s best-kept secret
Doom Patrol may only be two issues in so far, but it’s already feeling like one of the best-kept secrets of DC’s All-In launch. It may not be getting the big push like Legion of Superheroes or Jonah Hex, but it’s a title that is a perfect entry point for some of the weirdest heroes in comics. I doubt the big issue ending cliffhanger will go the way it is being presented as, but if it does, this is a great issue for this trio of the Doom Patrol to go out on, and if Van Poelgeest and Henrichson can keep this quality up for the next few issues, we may have one of the best new takes on the Doom Patrol in some time.

#2: The Karman Blade #2
‘The Karman Blade’ #2 cuts through life, death, the human soul for a truly dazzling chapter
In what the series writer called one of his fave single issues ever, The Karman Blade #2 adds to Anatta’s journey with this profound meditation on agency and fate, the nature of violence and love, and that which truly binds us all.

#1: Supergirl #18
‘Supergirl’ #18 is the long overdue return of another Girl of Steel
All in all, Supergirl #18 is an excellent jumping-on point for fans who want to keep following Kara’s journey that started in Campbell’s first issue, and it’s structured in a way that makes it easy to skip “Kingdom of Zod” for fans who didn’t want to follow that event.
