Absolute Batman is huge on TikTok, but don’t expect to see series writer Scott Snyder on the platform anytime soon

    • DC’s Absolute Batman cartoon will be an “expansion” of the comic, says Scott Snyder

Absolute Batman is a runaway success, and series writer Scott Snyder believes TikTok is partially responsible. The writer has regularly credited TikTok with bringing new readers onto the book. Snyder has watched the growing comics community on TikTok, and it makes him optimistic about the future of the industry. “There’s so many comic TikTokers all of a sudden. And I look at it, I’m way too old for it, but it’s also exciting,” Scott Snyder says during an appearance on AIPT Comics Podcast.

However, don’t expect to see Snyder posting videos on the platform anytime soon. The writer says DC Comics has encouraged him to post writing lessons on TikTok, but he isn’t comfortable with the platform.

“DC asked me about it. They were like, ‘You should do a TikTok.’ I do other things a little bit. And they were like, ‘Do that. You can teach little lessons and this stuff.’ And I was like, ‘I can’t. I just can’t look at myself on camera and do all that stuff.’ But it’s very exciting. Everyone on there, thank you. It’s amazing to see the whole neighborhood of things happening.”

In other words, we won’t be seeing Scott Snyder on TikTok, but we’ll still be seeing plenty of Absolute Batman, so I’m not complaining.

Here’s an update to date guide on the Absolute Batman release schedule.
