Savannah Comic Con 2026 event set for May 2027 after date changes

Savannah Comic Con says tickets and vendor booths will roll over to the new May 2027 dates, but some attendees and vendors say they want the option of getting their money back.

Savannah Comic Con was supposed to happen this past weekend, but after multiple date changes, the event is now scheduled for May 15 and 16, 2027.

Organizers say previously purchased tickets, vendor booths, artist booths and exhibitor spaces will automatically transfer to the new dates.

But social media posts and comments reviewed by WJCL show some attendees and vendors are raising concerns about refunds, with some saying they disputed charges, filed complaints or still wanted the option of getting their money back.

William Sinski, CEO of Jubeeli Honey Company, wanted to be a vendor at this year’s Savannah Comic Con. He says moving the event from 2026 to 2027 is more than a simple date change.

“If they said, ‘this week in 2026 isn’t going to work, we’re going to do it the following week,’ I’d be annoyed, but okay, things happen,” Sinski said. “But you don’t change the year.”

Ticket holder Kaley Barron says she and her husband bought tickets hoping to take their daughters to their first anime convention.

She says their daughters were planning outfits, but the repeated date changes made it harder for the family to attend.

“It was just disappointing, and it was very disappointing for our daughters because they were planning their outfits,” Barron said. “But then when they kept on changing it, they just got more and more disappointed.”

Barron says her family has not requested a refund, but believes buyers should have been given a choice.

“I think right now to save face for them is that they should offer us the option of a refund, or to roll over the tickets,” Barron said.

Savannah Comic Con told WJCL the event was rescheduled, not canceled. Organizers said buyers agreed to a policy stating there would be no refunds unless the event was completely canceled.

In emails and messages reviewed by WJCL, buyers were told the date change was because of issues beyond the organizer’s control. But in a statement to WJCL, Savannah Comic Con gave an additional reason, saying the move was also connected to personal family issues involving their manager.

Sinski says he was initially told he would not receive a refund after buying a booth for the 2026 event. He says he later contacted Showpass and filed a complaint with the Georgia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.

“I did get my money back,” Sinski said. “They told me before that they couldn’t give me my money back because it would go against their own rules. And I was like, well, you made the rules. You can change the rules.”

Now, some attendees and vendors are asking what options are available for people who say the 2027 dates no longer work for them.

Organizers previously told WJCL the event will still happen in 2027 and that all tickets and vendor booths will be honored for the new dates.

WJCL reached back out to Savannah Comic Con for another opportunity to respond, but has not heard back on whether people who want a refund this year can get one.
