Apart from the trailer launch, Salman also spoke about the topic of discussion regarding the film.
Salman Khan made a stylish appearance at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace in Mumbai on Friday, November 6. The actor arrived at the event amid tight security, with videos and photographs from the venue quickly making their way onto social media.
Salman dressed up simply but smartly for the occasion. He wore a black long-sleeve T-shirt with blue denim jeans and sunglasses.
Throughout the event, Salman was spotted wearing a navy blue blazer. In many videos from the launch, he can be seen with his castmates and other actors from the film.
Apart from the trailer launch, Salman also spoke about the topic of discussion regarding the film. He made it clear Maatrubhumi isn’t a biopic.
Speaking at the event, he explained that the film is inspired by real events rather than being a direct account of any one person’s life.

“Yeh biopic bilkul hi nahi hai. Yeh inspired hai…I just wanted one thing from man on man fight. Bas itna hi hai. Ab ismein Chinese hain, hum hain, toh uske upar se laga ki humara yeh j nnarrative hoga, yeh thoda sa relationship bigaad dega. Ab I don’t believe ki Salman Khan ne ek picture banayi yahan par aur for ya against jo bhi hai, I don’t think ki Chinese bolenge dekhke ki Salman Khan ne picture banayi hai ab attack karo India ko,” he said at the trailer launch.
There had also been speculation since the teaser’s release that the film takes an anti-China stance. Addressing those claims, Salman dismissed the reports and said, “There are narratives that this film is anti-China. The government has pressurised us to rewrite the script. All these claims are ‘bakwas’.”
The trailer launch also comes amid another change to the film’s release schedule. Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace has reportedly been pushed from November 20 to December 4.
The revised date was announced at the event, just hours before the trailer launch. According to a report by India Today, the makers have secured the necessary clearances, including approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The film was originally announced as Battle of Galwan, before its title was changed earlier this year. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace also stars Chitrangda Singh.
