Sai Pallavi Announcement likely in October
There have been rumors about Sai Pallavi’s role in Kalki 2 but there has been no official word from the makers till now. A report published in Deccan Chronicle says the team could disclose her casting in October. Meanwhile, production is expected to continue with sequences involving the rest of the cast.
Prabhas has returned for the sequel and Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan are also expected to reprise their important roles from the first film.
Nag Ashwin’s Perspective on the Kalki Universe
Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin, who takes viewers into a sci-fi world that is ambitious in scale and based on Indian mythology. The film was a huge commercial success, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and other leading stars and is known for its large-scale visual world-building.
The film also received National Award recognition, further raising expectations surrounding the sequel.
According to reports, Nag Ashwin is taking more time to develop the story and expand the universe created in the first instalment for Kalki 2.
Prabhas and other actors to commence shoot
The sequel is reported to be mounted on a much larger scale, with the production team planning an extensive shooting schedule. The other lead actors will start shooting their portions from October except for Prabhas. The team is reportedly looking to finish production by the middle of 2027.
Kalki 2, produced by Ashwini Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner, is turning out to be one of the major upcoming Indian film projects. However, the makers have not yet officially confirmed the sequel on several counts, including Sai Pallavi’s reported participation.
