There were so many huge stars and revelations at Comic-Con 2026, including a ghostly new role for Ryan Gosling. Access Hollywood is breaking down all the major surprises.

Ryan Reynolds snuck into San Diego ComicCon this weekend without security, mixing with fans while undercover as his Marvel antihero character.

The “Deadpool” actor swapped his signature red suit for a grey denim suit when he crashed Saturday’s event incognito. He stopped to pose for photos with fans, who assumed they were taking selfies with just another cosplayer.

But in a recent Instagram post, Reynolds confirmed it was really him under the suit.

“Yesterday, 10 years after the first film and exactly 2 years after Deadpool & Wolverine, I felt so lucky to be on the #SDCC floor with everyone whose unapologetic devotion brings so much joy to this world,” he wrote. “No handlers, no security, no ropes. WHAT A GIFT. Thanks to everyone I met, who aren’t only cosplaying but world-building.”

The video shows Reynolds swinging a faux sword with a Deadpool cosplayer and joking around with Olaf from “Frozen.” The actor revealed in the caption that he also met the “actual Sergeant Slaughter,” or Robert Remus, the voice actor behind “G.I. Joe: The Movie.”

Reynolds later appeared at Marvel’s Hall H panel presenting “Avengers: Doomsday,” lobbing questions at his co-stars. Rumors of his character’s involvement in the upcoming film remain unconfirmed.

Robert Downey Jr., who plays Ironman, spotted Reynolds in the crowd and joked, “Who’s this guy with the swords and stuff?”

Reynolds replied, “Long-time listener, first-time caller. This seems an awfully expensive way to announce a film. When do you start filming?”

The actor verified at a recent Fanatics FanFest that there will be a new movie in the Deadpool franchise, involving deep cuts from the comics that earlier movies missed, Reynolds teased.

The upcoming blockbuster, the fourth in the franchise, is a no-brainer following the massive success of “Deadpool and Wolverine.” Released in 2024, the movie, which starred Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, became the highest-grossing rated R movie of all time, earning over $1.3 billion at the worldwide box office.

The first three movies in the ‘Deadpool” franchise have collectively grossed nearly $3 billion globally.
