It looks like Image Comics has a massive hit on their hands with If Destruction Be Our Lot. The series, which follows a robotic replicant of Abraham Lincoln, has seen such explosive demand that the publisher is rushing the first three issues back to print this week.

The creative team behind the series—co-writers Matthew Rosenberg and Mark Elijah Rosenberg, artist Andy MacDonald, colorist Francesco Segala, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou—are clearly striking a chord with readers. Following a triple sell-out at the distributor level, Image Comics has confirmed that they are fast-tracking reprints for the first three issues to keep up with the escalating demand.

Each of the new printings will feature fresh cover art by series artist Andy MacDonald. Reflecting on the unexpected success, Matthew Rosenberg quipped, “I think we all wildly underestimated how much people like robot Abe Lincoln.”

Artist Andy MacDonald added, “I hope this story will touch your lonely animatronic heart like a fresh bolt of lightning.”

For those catching up, the series is set in a future where humanity is extinct. The world is populated by the robots that once served us, but while most are content with their existence, Abe—a robotic replicant of the 16th U.S. President—is searching for meaning beyond his daily functions. Driven by a desire to see what lies beyond the edge of his city, Abe begins a dangerous journey across Earth that could lead to his destruction.

If you missed out on the initial run, here is when you can pick up the upcoming reprints at your local comic shop:

    • September 2nd: Third printing of If Destruction Be Our Lot #1 (by MacDonald), along with second printings of #2 and #3 (by MacDonald).

Additionally, the highly anticipated If Destruction Be Our Lot#4 is slated to hit shelves on Wednesday, August 19th, featuring four cover variants:

    • Cover A: Andy MacDonald
    • Cover B: Malachi Ward
    • Cover C: Martin Simmonds (1:10 copy incentive)
    • Cover D: Chloe Brailsford (1:25 copy incentive)

The series is also widely available on digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Google Play, Apple’s iBooks, Barnes & Noble’s Nook, Scribd’s Everand, Kobo, Overdrive, and Hoopla.—–Would you like me to draft a tweet or social media blurb to accompany this article for your channels?
