RisingJoy targets 30 vertical anime titles by 2027

The Singapore-based company has delivered its first six originals and signed an international distribution pact with NTT DOCOMO Studio & Live to expand its vertical content business.

“Hide My Secret in the Moonlight”

RisingJoy is targeting 30 vertical anime titles by the end of the first quarter of 2027, expanding its original production strategy alongside a new international distribution agreement with Japan’s NTT DOCOMO Studio & Live. The framework MOU covers the Japanese company’s vertical content, including anime, with titles licensed on a non-exclusive, title-by-title basis under separately negotiated terms.

The first six titles have been completed and delivered under the RJOY Originals banner: “Addicted to the Dark Boss,” “Hide My Secret in the Moonlight,” “In the Devil’s Hand,” “Last Order from the Revenge Club,” “Locked Away I Became Unbreakable” and “Modern Cinderella Behind the Lies.” Four more titles are expected by the end of 2026, followed by two in January 2027.

Developed and directed byRisingJoy’s in-house creative team, the productions use AI tools to scale output within short-form budgets. Produced in Japanese and English, the titles are available on the RJOY-branded service in Indonesia and Malaysia through IDN App and Astro-operated streaming platform sooka, where they rank among the top 10 titles by views on both services.

“Most successful vertical series today are live action, and vertical anime is still an underdeveloped category. This is a strategic category for us, not an experiment” said Cassandra Yang, co-founder and CEO of RisingJoy. Yang added that the company’s data points to a smaller but more engaged anime audience, with stronger attachment to characters and franchise potential.

Beyond anime,RisingJoy is developing original IP with local partners across Asia, combining locally originated stories and talent with international distribution. Its network spans more than 50 platforms in over 40 countries, with the company aiming to take Asian-developed titles to audiences worldwide.
