Bleach Anime Concludes After 22 Years with Series Finale

The anime Bleach, which first premiered in 2004, has brought its grand journey to a close after approximately 22 years. On the 27th, the final episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity, titled ‘Death & Strawberry,’ aired in Japan. With this, the Thousand-Year Blood War arc—which developed across four parts starting in 2022—as well as the Bleach TV anime series that began in 2004, have come to a complete conclusion.

The finale was also released on the same day in South Korea. According to ANIBOX’s official schedule, the final episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity aired subtitled at 1:00 AM on the 27th, just one hour after its broadcast in Japan. The episode is also available on OTT platforms such as LAFTEL and TVING.

Bleach is a work serialized by Tite Kubo in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016. The original manga surpassed 130 million cumulative copies in circulation worldwide, and in addition to the TV anime, it has been adapted into various media including theatrical movies, a live-action film, and video games.

After first airing in October 2004, the Bleach TV anime produced 366 episodes through 2012. About 10 years later, in October 2022, it returned with the manga’s final arc, Thousand-Year Blood War. The Thousand-Year Blood War arc aired across four parts totaling 50 episodes, starting with the first part in 2022, The Separation in 2023, The Conflict in 2024, and The Calamity in 2026.

Meanwhile, to commemorate the conclusion of the Bleach anime, the production team released a special ending video and a ‘The Stories Visual Movie.’ The special ending video features credits for the voice cast and production staff alongside original key animation art. ‘The Stories’ video was created to look back on Ichigo Kurosaki over the past 22 years.
