On Friday, Dark Horse announced their programming schedule for Portland’s upcoming Rose City Comic Con. RCCC is Dark Horse’s home turf convention, taking place at the Oregon Convention Center September 11-13. The lineup features panels and signings with creators such as Patton Oswalt, Gail Simone, and Brian Michael Bendis. All of the Dark Horse signings will take place at booth 1100. Dark Horse: Star-Powered Storytelling with Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum (Main Stage – Portland Ballroom)
Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian, actor, and writer Patton Oswalt started out performing as your favorite characters in beloved films and television, but now he’s turned to creating the newest fan-favorite characters in their creator-owned comics! Together with showrunner and writer Jordan Blum and other comics creators, they’ll discuss building stories like Minor Threats, Witness Point, and more! Dark Horse brings the Manga! Join the editorial, licensing, and marketing teams behind the library of titles Dark Horse has brought to English audiences from Japan and Korea over the years to discuss the importance of Manga (and Manhwa) to the comics industry in the United States and get some insight into the care and passion that goes into designing a Deluxe Edition of a beloved series!
Dark Horse won’t be the only publisher with a major showing in Portland this weekend. Ignition Press also announced that they have multiple creators in attendance, exclusive covers for sale, and that they will be sponsoring the RCCC x ComicsPro Retailer Day.
