PS Portal system software update 7.3.0 patch notes (October 8, 2026)

Patch notes for today’s PS Portal system software update are as follows:

• You can turn 3D audio on or off while playing a game. Go to Settings > System > 3D Audio.

• We’ve updated the search experience. You can now:

  • See results in real time as you type.

  • Scan a QR code to continue your search in PlayStation Store on PlayStation App or in a web browser.

• We’ve improved system software performance and stability.

• We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.

Earlier today, PS Portal’s direct cloud streaming library was also expanded to add Hellraiser: Revival at launch.

PS Portal receiving two significant firmware revisions within three weeks is rare. It’s possible that Sony’s fine tuning things before launching the OLED handheld, probably in time for holiday 2026.

In case you missed it, PS Portal system update for September 2026 made improvements to preserve battery health.

Today’s update is being rolled out in phases so if you’re not prompted to download it yet, you will be in due course.
