This would not be Harry’s first time speaking publicly about Diana on camera. In 2017, both brothers appeared in the documentary ‘Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy,’ where they spoke candidly about her death and its lasting impact on them.
Back then, William and Harry presented a united front. That is no longer the case. Their relationship has grown strained in recent years, shaped by ongoing rifts over royal duties and family matters.
Uncle’s book adds to the moment
The documentary talk comes alongside another major release. Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, is publishing a book to mark the same anniversary, titled ‘Swan Song: Diana, My Sister,’ set to hit shelves on September 22.
Spencer explained his reasoning in a press release. He said the approaching anniversary brought a flood of interview requests about his sister, which pushed him to finally put his own memories in writing rather than keep reading other people’s takes.

According to one report, it details alleged mistreatment Diana suffered from then-Prince Charles during their marriage. The book’s release has also stirred tension elsewhere in the family. King Charles reportedly pushed back on claims made in it.
Other Diana projects in the works
Harry’s possible documentary would not be the only new project about his mother. A separate UK production company, Love Monday TV, is working on its own Diana documentary, built around several hours of previously unheard recordings.
The company’s creative director described the goal behind that project. She said the film aims to show Diana as a woman who took control of her own story, not just a victim of her circumstances.
