JustWatch is expanding beyond its role as a streaming discovery platform, giving viewers another potential destination for movies and TV shows. The company is preparing to launch JustWatch TV in October 2026, adding a new option to an increasingly crowded streaming market.
JustWatch TV will offer more ways to watch
JustWatch TV will be available directly through the JustWatch app and website. Rather than sending users to another platform after they find a title, the service will allow them to watch or rent content without leaving JustWatch
The platform will combine three ways to access content: free ad-supported viewing, individual rentals and an ad-free subscription. Its initial lineup includes Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street and Vortex Media.
The service will initially be available in the U.S. and Canada, the UK and Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and New Zealand.
JustWatch TV will enter a market that already includes services such as Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Roku and Tubi, which offer different combinations of streaming, rentals and other content options. Netflix is also part of the competitive landscape, although its model focuses more heavily on subscriptions, original programming and exclusive franchises.
JustWatch’s existing audience is central to the company’s expansion. More than 50 million people use its app and website each month to find where movies and shows are available, keep track of what they have watched and save titles for later.
JustWatch Group founder and CEO David Croyé said the company has spent more than a decade helping people find movies and shows, including titles that can be difficult to locate. He said the new service aims to make “content discovery, access and engagement even easier.”
Quentin Carbonell, JustWatch’s SVP of Global Content Acquisitions and Strategy, described the service as a response to streaming “fragmentation.” He said JustWatch TV will bring together hits and “hard-to-find gems,” while allowing viewers to watch for free, rent titles or rediscover them on other services.
