HBO Maxhas released an intense new trailer for its upcoming crime drama. The official glimpse of 4 Blocks Zero takes viewers back to the Hamady family’s early years in 1990s Berlin.
The prequel shows how the family started building a new life in Germany. It also sets up the events that eventually shaped the clan seen in the original 4 Blocks series.

Inside HBO Max’s 4 Blocks Zero and the Hamady family’s origins
4 Blocks Zero follows the Hamadys after they leave Lebanon and settle in Germany. Malik Hamady arrives with his four children and mother-in-law, hoping to give them a better future. However, prejudice and daily struggles make that goal difficult.
The family’s situation changes when Malik’s brother-in-law Ibrahim <a href="https://comicvibe.com/big-bang-theory-spin-off-tv-show-returns-today-on-hbo-max-for-season-2/” title=”Big Bang Theory Spin-off TV Show Returns Today on HBO Max for Season 2″>returns from prison. He has spent eight years behind bars before rejoining the family. His dangerous secret pulls him toward Berlin’s criminal underworld and puts the Hamadys under growing pressure.
Tareq Nassery plays Ali, who later becomes Toni Hamady in the original series. Rami Fadel Khalaf portrays his father Malik, while Tariq Al-Saies plays his uncle Ibrahim. Soufiane El Mesaudi is seen as Ali’s brother Abbas.
The cast also includes Fatima Khanfour as grandmother Hanin, Almountaser “Monty” Alchltouh and Siana Zayed as Marwan and Amara. Luis Vorbach, Bella Dayne, Mohammad Eliraqui and several other actors also appear.
Ozgur Yıldırım and Huseyin Tabak directed the series. The writing team includes Bernd Lange, Bahar Bektas, Natalie Zoghbi and Hassan Akkouch. W&B Television produces the German HBO Original.
4 Blocks Zero premieres on HBO Max on September 25, 2026. The eight episodes will roll out weekly and give viewers a closer look at the family’s beginnings.
