Poppy, a singer and performer who has been nominated for two Grammy Awards, has partnered with SoWhen? to reveal an exciting new Fortnite in-game experience that will launch on October 23. The partnership will be playable for one month, until November 23. Fortnite is accessible on PCs, mobile devices, and consoles for free. You can play it alone or with up to four other people. Fans can explore the teaser video below for a visual sneak peek at what’s to come. The interactive musical adventure “Poppy Secret Run” is only available on Fortnite. It allows fans to experience a performance of Poppy‘s song “Time Will Tell”in a whole different way by immersing them in her universe. After navigating and interacting with the environment, players must decide between the Light and the Dark.
Every choice they make during the process influences their final destination. Two incarnations of Poppy and her real-life sphynx cat, Pi, lead players around the realm, which revolves on a bizarre cosmos of clocks. The world reacts to players’ decisions, revealing a clear route. To construct the foundation for this project, Poppy recorded a full motion-capture performance with SoWhen? in Paris in March 2026. Her customized gaming world was built around her live performance of “Time Will Tell” in the studio. Her in-game persona was merged with her theatrical personality. Markerless motion capture and OptiTrack technology were used to record Poppy‘s face, lips, and movements without the use of trackers or costumes.
The gameplay was then meticulously connected to the “Time Will Tell” audio. Every flip, fall, and rise is timed to the beat. Players can find exclusive content outside of the main run. Additionally, her concert will be available in a performance-only format without the game. Exclusive tales are hidden behind locked doors. Poppy has never shared before, rewarding those who come back and learn more. As the month progresses, more surprises will be unveiled.
