Nintendo will launch a physical Switch 2 version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A with its Mega Dimension DLC bundled in.
The complete version of the game will launch on cartridge this October 29, The Pokémon Company confirmed today. This will include the shinier version of the game playable on Nintendo Switch 2 (though this cartridge can also be played on Switch, if you want to buy now and upgrade your hardware later).
Mega Dimension is, of course, the expansion for Pokémon Legends: Z-A that allows players to go on further adventures in Lumiose Cityity to temporarily control Pokémon at levels greater than 100, and encounter even more Mega Evolutions — such as Darkrai, Magearna and Baxcalibur

While Mega Dimension launched last October as a separate download, this combined package means that anyone purchasing Pokémon Legends: Z-A this holiday will be able to get the complete game in one go. You’ll also unlock a gift of 100 Ultra Balls to get your catching off to an ultra start.
Nintendo has no major new Pokémon game due this holiday, so a re-release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A makes sense. There’s still some time to go until the next generation of Pokémon games arrives next year, exclusively for Switch 2, in the shape of Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves.
But could there be one other surprise before the end of the year? Some fans are convinced that re-releases of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald will also launch in 2026, though we’ll have to wait and see if these become a reality.
“Pokémon Legends: Z-A finally feels like Game Freak hitting its stride in Pokémon’s 3D era,” IGN wrote in our Pokémon Legends Z-A review, awarding the game an 8/10 score. “Lumiose City may not be visually exciting, but exciting Pokémon encounters, well-written characters, and amusing side quests still make it fun to explore.”
