Oklahoma Comic Con returns to downtown Tulsa this weekend, bringing actors, voice performers, artists, vendors and cosplayers to the Arvest Convention Center on Saturday, Aug. 8, and Sunday, Aug. 9.
The two-day event will feature celebrity Q&As, fan panels, photo opportunities, autographs, and more featuring vendors and artists.
Celebrity Guests Coming To Oklahoma Comic Con
Joey Mills, the convention’s MC, said this year’s event will bring together guests from television, movies, animation and video games.
Among the scheduled guests is Tom Kenny, the longtime voice of SpongeBob SquarePants.
“And he’s a great guy,” Mills said. “They’re actually—he’s got a band that he performs with. They’re playing at the Vanguard tonight.”
Tom Kenny and the Hi-Seas are scheduled to perform at The Vanguard in Tulsa at 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Other guests discussed by Mills include actors Randy Quaid and Anthony Michael Hall, “Supernatural” actors Mark Sheppard and Ruth Connell, and Kane Hodder, known for portraying Jason Voorhees in several “Friday the 13th” films.
The lineup also includes voice actors connected to video games and animated productions, along with performers from the “Power Rangers,” “Red Dead Redemption” and “Hazbin Hotel” franchises.
What Fans Can Do At Oklahoma Comic Con
Mills said the convention is designed to bring an experience associated with larger comic conventions to fans in Oklahoma.
“If we can bring that kind of event, though, scale it down a little bit, make it make sense for the market and for the venue size that we have, but bring that full experience to people here,” Mills said.
Fans will be able to attend Q&A sessions and panels, meet celebrity guests and browse booths from artists and vendors.
Oklahoma Comic Con Tickets, Hours And Location
Oklahoma Comic Con will be held at the Arvest Convention Center, 100 Civic Center in downtown Tulsa.
The convention runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
