Marvel is ramping up their new line of Asia Originals. They previously announced their new partnership with Kadokawa back at SDCC. At that panel, only a Spider-Man book was mentioned along with a potential Spider-Gwen book. During the House of Ideas panel at NYCC 26, the publisher went into further details on the initial slate of books.

To discuss the new books, executive editor of Asia Originals C.B. Cebulski(the former Marvel editor in chief who also once posed as an Asian creator), Kadokawa’s chief editor Kenta Matsui, and Kadokawa comics editor Naofumi Mashino were brought out to talk Marvel x Kadokawa. The group announced the following titles with the title images in Japanese. QR codes on each image lead to preview pages in Japanese (which we’ve helpfully linked to).

Deadpool: Millionare with a Mouth – Surprising no one, one of the initial series from this line will focus on The Merc With a Mouth.

I Am Iron Man – A retelling of the story of Iron Man but told with a Japanese sensibility.

Spider-Gwen: Her Big Debut – This was mentioned at SDCC but did not have a title at that time. This series will be a manga adaptation of the popular character’s origin.

Venom Lethal Protector: The Manga– Another retelling, this will take the lethal protector mythos and put a manga spin on it.

Spider-Man: Shibuya Crossline – Another series previously announced at SDCC. A Japanese Daredevil and Punisher will be introduced in this original manga series. However, the Spider-Man in this will not be Peter Parker. Instead, the series will feature an original character swinging around the Shibuya ward of Tokyo.

Excitement from all of the panelists for these new series was palpable. “This is freaking so cool and I can’t wait for you to get your hands on it” Cebulski translated for Matsui. The creative teams or release dates were mentioned.

Stay tuned to The Beat for more news from NYCC ’26.
