Marvel and Lucasfilm have revealed Star Wars: Ahsoka — Escape From Thrawn, a five-issue miniseries following Ezra Bridger at the end of the first season of the Disney+ show. Written by Rodney Barnes from a story by series creator Dave Filoni, with art by Andrea Di Vito (Thrawn: Alliances), the book will reveal how Ezra got off Thrawn’s Star Destroyer the Chimaera, after stowing away onboard it to return home in the first season finale.
The official synopsis reads, “Witness the unseen story of Ezra Bridger’s daring flight from Peridea! Ezra narrowly escaped his exile beyond the known galaxy by stowing away aboard Grand Admiral Thrawn’s flagship, but his fight to return home is far from over! Hunted across hyperspace with nowhere to hide, the rebel hero must now evade Captain Enoch, counter the dark magick of the Nightsisters, and outwit the Empire’s greatest strategist if he hopes to make it off the Chimaera alive.”
Barnes has penned multiple Star Wars comics, including Marvel’s adaptation of the first season of Ahsoka (which Di Vito also provided the art for), and other series based on the live-action Disney+ shows. His most recent project in the galaxy far far away, a graphic novelization of The Book of Boba Fett, will conclude with issue #7 on December 9, and be collected in trade paperback on June 8.
Escape From Thrawn #1 will be released with a main cover by Phil Noto on January 20, 2027, the same day Ahsoka season two premieres on Disney+. New York Comic Con attendees will be able to learn more at Lucasfilm Publishing’s Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away… panel on Friday, October 9, at 11 am, in Room 409, where more will also be announced.
