Voice actressesNoriko HidakaandMisato Fukuenhavejoined the voice castof the ongoingHono no Tokyujo: Dodge DankoTV anime series. The anime began airing in Japan on July 6, 2026.
Hidaka will voice Misato Ichigeki, who is the mother of protagonist Danko Ichigeki. She also voices a younger version of Danko’s father, Danpei, in some flashback scenes inHono no Tokyujo: Dodge Dankoand is a narrator for the series. Hidaka previously voiced Danpei in the 1991Hono no Tokyuji Dodge Danpeianime series.
In addition, Fukuen will voice Danko’s grandmother, Haruka Ichigeki. She is most recently known as the voice of Himko Toga fromMy Hero Academia.

Ikehata Hiroshi(Witch Watch, Dark Gathering)is directing the anime series, withKazuho Hyodo(365 Days to the Wedding, Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You) as series composer andNarihito Sekikawa(If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student) as character designer.CUEis in charge of the animation production.
The anime is based onTetsuhiro Koshita‘s dodgeball-themed manga series, which began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Corocoro Comic website on November 28, 2022. Six tankobon volumes have been released in Japan as of August 2025.
The 2022 manga series is a Reiwa-set sequel to Koshita’sHono no Tokyuji Dodge Danpeimanga, which ran in CoroCoro Comic magazine in 1989 and ended in 1995. It inspired its own TV anime adaptation between 1991 and 1992, as well as several video games
Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Dankofollows a young girl named Danko Ichigeki — the daughter of the first series’ protagonist Danpei Ichigeki.
