Nintendo shared an interesting tidbit about The Super Mario Galaxy Movie during the Q&A portion of its financial results briefing this week.
According to senior executive officer and corporate director Yusuke Beppu, Nintendo conducted “research into the satisfaction levels” of those who watched the film. Based on what the company found, people had a higher level of satisfaction when watching it with groups compared to those who watched alone.
Beppu said this lines up with Nintendo’s focus on playing together. Multiplayer experiences have long been a part of the company’s DNA.
His full statement is as follows:
“… our research into the satisfaction levels of those who watched The Super Mario Galaxy Movie revealed that satisfaction was higher among those who watched in groups of two compared to those who watched alone, and even higher still among those who watched in groups of four. As evidenced by the inclusion of four controller ports on the Nintendo 64, Nintendo has long placed great importance on the experience of playing together. The ability to play together serves as a compelling reason for people to choose our products, and this, in turn, helps expand the circle of players.”
In other news, Nintendo is still teasing more movies to come in the future. This was also shared during its financial results presentation this week.
